Louise and Tony's Lincolnshire Elopement Wedding

As a Lincolnshire wedding photographer, January isn’t the month that most couples have at the top of their list when they contact me to make arrangements to photograph their wedding. In fact, it wasn’t even Louise and Tony that initially got in touch with me to make the arrangements for their fabulous elopement from their home in Leicester to the Lincolnshire coast which they hold so dear. Their friend made the initial arrangements and I took it from there - and what a wonderful day it turned out to be! Elopement weddings are such a special, intimate occasion. I always consider it to be a privilege to be able to join a couple on their wedding day and being a integral part of Louise and Tony’s day was extra special.

Thank you so much, Darren, for making our special day so perfect and magical! You went above and beyond before, during and after our special day and we thank you so much for this.
— Louise & Tony | Your Big Day

On a rather chilly January morning, I finally got to meet Louise and Tony in person at Louth’s Registry Office in the town centre. It is always great to photograph couples in the intimate surroundings of Louth Town Hall’s ceremony room, the William Wilson suite, and the registrar team based in Louth are always so accommodating and understanding that I have a job to do just the same as they have. Louise and Tony’s lovely ceremony had both a touch of emotion (in all the right moments) as well as plenty of light-heartedness, fun and laughter! I was able to capture some beautiful timeless images and it was clear to see how much Louise and Tony mean to each other.

After photographing their lovely Louth wedding ceremony, I headed to the first of Louise and Tony’s favourite Lincolnshire spots of the day - the always popular Hubbard’s Hills on the edge of Louth. Whilst it’s possible to find plenty of dog walkers and both locals and visitors at any time of the day year-round at Hubbard’s Hills, on this particular morning it seemed as though we had the whole of this amazing setting to ourselves. Well, almost to ourselves …

At one point during Louise and Tony’s elopement wedding photography session we noticed a little red-breasted visitor that inquisitively joined us to keep an eye on what was going on. The phrase ‘when a robin appears, a loved one is near’ seemed very appropriate in that moment as it sat happily next to Louise’s beautiful wedding bouquet. Fortunately, I was quick enough to be able to capture this truly magical moment!

We had a fabulous time exploring lots of locations around Hubbard’s Hills. As an experienced Louth photographer who is used to capturing memories for couples and families at Hubbard’s Hills, I know the best spots in this great location to photograph wedding couples. Louise and Tony brought along plenty of props which we made sure we featured in their images and I particularly liked Louise’s choice of footwear which was rather more suited to the surroundings! It was such a pleasure to capture so many amazing images during the hour or so we spent at Hubbard’s Hills in Louth.

From there, we made our way to the couple’s other most-loved location when they visit the Lincolnshire coast - Huttoft beach - where we were joined by their two lovely dogs who really made sure they got their moment in the sunshine. Speaking of which, the low winter sun was brilliant for creating so many stunning images for Louise and Tony. We had the beach almost to ourselves and we were able to create many more varied photographs under those big open blue skies that Lincolnshire is so well known for.

As an experienced Louth and Lincolnshire wedding photographer, it was such a pleasure to be able to share in this amazing day for such a wonderful couple who had a great time. This elopement wedding on the Lincolnshire coast was full of memories for the happy couple and many memories which I will hold on to for a long time to come!
