Meet your Louth and Lincolnshire experienced professional wedding, engagement and family photographer

Hi, it’s nice to meet you! I’m Darren, your Louth-based wedding, engagement and family photographer.

As an experienced professional photographer based in my wonderful hometown of Louth in Lincolnshire, my goal is working with amazing couples and families to capture incredible precious memories together and turn those special moments into beautiful timeless photographs for you and your family to cherish.

I would be delighted to capture those moments with you, whether you’re just starting out on your journey together as a couple or growing with your family. I’ll be there to create those memories.

To me, there’s two parts to photographing someone: a great fun experience full of laughter in comfortable surroundings with people that mean the most to us, followed by long-lasting memories to cherish for years to come.

Photography has been my passion for many years, a journey which began at a very young age.  My photography has taken me to many locations to shoot weddings, family occasions and group sessions and I’m happy to travel to capture the moments in your life that are most important to you.

‘Do you do weddings …?’

Probably the first thing people ask me when I tell them I’m a photographer. The answer is, of course … yes and I love it! There’s nothing better than being able to share in a couple’s most special of days and create amazing memories for them and their families. Want to find out more about my work as a wedding photographer in Louth and Lincolnshire? Take a look here:

  • That’s an easy one - people! I love meeting new people, getting to know you and working with you to create wonderful memories of your special occasions.

  • Whilst I’m very familiar with some popular locations around Lincolnshire, I love having the opportunity to visit new places and put my creative eyes to good effect. There’s nothing better as photographer than having good company and a fresh environment to explore.

  • Relaxed, fun and genuine. My aim is to make you comfortable which will, in turn, show through in your images. I photograph in an easy-going manner and create beautiful images that show the natural, real you.

From receiving my first camera as a gift when I was very young, I realised that I was not only hooked. I’ve always loved the buzz of trying to get a shot and developing my skill (and patience!) to make sure it’s just right. I have been photographing for many years and have a wealth of experience of capturing many different situations through the lens. I was always the one with the camera wherever I went and the comment was always along the lines of ‘you take the pictures; your’s are always better than ours’. Over the years, I’ve worked my way up from basic cameras to the professional, high quality equipment I use now and my passion has grown over the last 30+ years!

I am so lucky to be based where I am. As a Lincolnshire photographer, I’m delighted to call Louth ‘home’. If you’ve not had the chance to visit our beautiful Georgian market town known as ‘the capital of the Wolds’ and nestled in the gorgeous Lincolnshire countryside, you really should! Living here my whole life gives me the distinct advantage of knowing locations that work perfectly as a setting, especially for my Outdoor Studio photoshoots.  It’s great to get out and about and being based here, there is plenty on offer. That said, I love to travel beyond my local area and have the pleasure of exploring and shooting at new locations. It was such an honour to have had the privilege of serving my town as Mayor of Louth through the pandemic and during its emergence back to a form of normality. I continue my work in the community as a town and district councillor as well as being a long-serving primary school governor.

A people person; I'm able to relate to others, listen to what they would like and create images that they have in mind. With experience in education and an ability to communicate with a wide range of people; photographing couples, individuals and families of all ages is second nature to me. I love getting to know you and finding out about your life and my relaxed and easy-going approach means that we’re very likely to connect - which makes your time being photographed so much more enjoyable and comfortable!

As a photographer, my task is simple: I use my creative skills to capture beautiful images for the people I work with. I use a discreet manner when photographing special occasions so that I am able to shoot genuine, natural images.  I pride myself on my ability to pick ‘the moment’ and putting together a selection of finished images that my couples and families will treasure for years to come.  I'm always happy to discuss their requirements so that they end up with the images that they want.

Simply put: I love what I do!  I always consider it such a privilege to be asked to be a part of a special time in someone’s life; whether it be a wedding, an engagement, the arrival of a new addition to the family, or a celebration of a family milestone. I love getting to places I’ve never been before and meeting people I wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to meet.  Along the way, I always keep in mind my professional approach and ensure I’m capturing memories to last a lifetime.

I can’t wait to work with you to capture precious moments and create lasting memories of you and your family in Louth, Lincolnshire and beyond!

I have known Darren for many years so would class him as a friend. However, on the day of our shoot he was very professional, he made us feel very relaxed and we had lots of laughs. I would recommend Darren as he is easygoing and a thoroughly nice chap.
